1-on-1 sessions: These sessions range from 30 to 60 minutes.

Each child's private lesson is unique and is designed to meet the needs of the child and the goals of the parents. Our therapists are licensed Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapists who either have a gymnastics background or have received training from Funtastic Gymnastic Therapy. We use trampolines, swings, pommel horses, balance beams and foam pits to facilitate the development of all motor skills, including jumping, balance, coordination, and body awareness. Within each session we allot time as well to work on fine motor skill development. Each child is given an evaluation from which the therapist develops a treatment plan off to address deficiencies as well as strengths.

Semi-private sessions: These sessions range from 45 to 60 minutes.

These semi-private sessions include two or three children and are taught by one therapist with the aid of one therapist assistant. The sessions range in duration from 45-60 minutes, depending on the age and abilities of the students. Due to the low child-therapist ratio, these sessions allow for students to work towards the individual goals that have been agreed upon through our evaluation process and parent meetings.

Group classes:

The goal of the class is to focus on matching the children in each group as a whole, based on the age and/or abilities of the students. Group classes are great for kids who want to work on their physical development, while also being part of a social network. These classes will not exceed a 5:1 student-therapist ratio.

My Team:

This team is for boys and girls who want to perform recreational and competitive cheerleading, tumbling, dance, and stunting. These teams will be part of a nation-wide competitive program and can lead to the Special Olympics. Students will have the opportunity to perform and show off their new skills at local exhibitions and events throughout Illinois and Wisconsin!

Our Programs

Funtastic Gymnastic Therapy has created special needs gymnastic programs that promote the advancement of both fine and gross motor skills. Gymnastics has many cognitive benefits! While special children are at Funtastic Gymnastic Therapy, their self-esteem and confidence increase as they meet goals, achieve challenges, develop socialization skills, and discover strengths that are not addressed in the traditional classroom setting. Additionally, the motivation and decision making that is part of the gymnastics environment can then be transferred to other settings.
